Spring Trend Highlight!

Recently, I made a post about how big Ombre Dyed pieces will be this coming Spring. Well, today I'm going to talk about Neons & Neutrals. If you paid attn. to the runway during Fashion Week, you more than likely witnessed how big of a hit Day-Glo hues were with many designers.

One designer who took advantage of this trend was Philip Lim for 3.1 Philip Lim. Most of his Spring/Summer 2008 collection includes the pairing of really bright colors like neon yellows, pinks etc. with sophisticated neutrals like khaki, navy and white.

LATEST CRAVE!

MAN OH MAN! So, I'm doing my daily runs through myspace trying to promote my blog, and I ran into a photo with the name 'Laura Marie' at the top. I clicked it, perused the page a bit and that's when it happened. I saw a link for DimePiece Designs (www.dimepiecedesigns.com), clicked that and fell in love. Everyone who knows me, can vouche that I am a freak for anything out of the ordinary. To the naked eye, these are just tees...but to the fashion eye...this is HOT ISH! Don't get it confused though, DimePiece isn't all about Tee's, they have hoodies and a bunch of other mean digs! You have to see for yourself. The Tee's that I've posted are pretty much my favorite but I'd throw em' all on!

Gradient!

WANNA BE ON TOP?!

THIS IS ME: CUTIE PIE HUH?! LOL

Hello Divas and Divos,

I was just sitting here sipping on my Welch's Grape, when I got the bright idea to do a weekly Cover Girl/Boy thingy lol. Idk, I think it'll be a cute way to shed light on the fashionable and it'll save me a heck of alot of time trying to find a new Header for my blog. I am easily bored and love to switch things up, you know...keep it fresh, so if you're interested...send me your most stylish pic or send a pic of someone you know if you don't want to participate. Everyone will get a turn, based on how hot their pic is...so no frets!

my contact: istrut345@aol.com

New Joint: "I'm Grown" Tiffany Evans feat. Bow Wow!

::Don't be discouraged...this is a hot joint:: I've been hearing alot about it but today is the 1st time that I've actually listened to it. I won't front, I thought Bow was gonna cause this to flop. Him and Omarion sort of blew it with that album they recently dropped, but that's neither here nor there. The song is cute!

Reed'n Is Fundamental!

Raquel Reed is a friend of mine on myspace and probably even one of yours. I remember seeing her page one day and saying to myself "wow..She takes the hottest pics!" I love her style and of course her signature blue hair.

Raquel is a model, singer, dancer, AND designer...or we can simply say...Art at it's best. Raquel has been modeling since she was a youngster. At the age of 7 she modeled for Guess Kids, then at around 13 she began doing it "Her Way". She does runway, printwork and is currently a makeup artist at MAC. On her Myspace page she says "I grew up pretty much alone, and was out on my own at a very young age. Kinda wise beyond my years,19 going on 28."

I love success stories.

Moral of the day: There is no courtesy desk for us to go to get a refund on an unused life. Life is hard, true, but we have to learn how to be the victor and not the victim!(PREACH!)

New Joint:: "You're Welcome" Jay-z feat. Mary J. Blige and Swizz Beatz

Let me know what you think...

P.S. Don't forget to cop your tickets for the Heart of The City tour(HOV & MARY)....COMIN TO A CITY NEAR U! Anybody who's Somebody will be there!

Black is Beautiful!

BEFORE:

AFTER:

I must say...I loooove Keyshia Cole's new do. I was digging the style of the cut when she first got it, but the blonde was soo over. I just couldn't get into it. The black however, is mean! It's just something about jet black hair...I tried to dye my hair another color not too long ago..and it didn't last a week. I went back to black in an instant.

Which do you think is hotter?

awwww!

Ive been hearing alot about these two but these 2 pics..pretty much confirms it all. This is too cute. Chris never really struck me as someone Rih would date, hes a cutie, yea, but he seems so young...idk. I'm happy for them though if they are in fact a couple...she's a very good look for him. I just hope he doesn't turn into a Bow Wow...u know, how he was clearly sweating Ciara then all of a sudden he's too sexy for his shirt...throwing shade. lol. I'm not with it. I don't think Chris is crazy though, he doesn't seem as arrogant as Bow but guys tend to bug out.

All I Need in this Life of Sin...is Me and My Girlfriends!

So, I was sitting here thinking a bit and came to the conclusion that I am truly blessed to have the friends that I have. At times I can be the most difficult person to understand but never do they ever give up on me. I LOVE U GIRLS!....no names needed...they know who they are!

btw...Im def. the one with the cardigan...kerrys in the yellow with one shoe off...punkin is the girl on my right...mata is next to kerry and shawanna is next to mata at the end. haha!

Heel-istrations!

These platforms by Miu Miu are dope! I love the chunky heel and the washed light brown leather. These definitely make a statement!

To purchase these heels, you can go to www.net-a-porter.com. Just click 'Shoes' or Designers and look for MIU MIU!

To Love or Loathe

InStyle's look of the week is the beautiful Kerry Washington in a bright floral Oscar de la Renta gown and Movado jewelry. She was in attendance at the 23rd Annual Women’s Project Women of Achievement gala, where she was being honored for her success as an actress.

I think the look is so Boss! Florals are big this season and she worked it well. (Minimal Jewelry Ladies!!!)

Digging this Ensemble? Let us know why you Love or Loathe this look...

Spring Trend Highlight!

So, as you all may know, Spring is promptly approaching and we're reeling in a lot of different looks. I've been seeing alot of Ombre dyed pieces, several in the Matthew Williamson Spring/Summer 08 collection and I've also spotted several cloth Marc by Marc Jacobs totes with the Ombre finish. I love Ombre (which is best defined as, colors that gradually intensify from dark to light). I haven't yet mastered the technique, however, I'm quite familiar with it's cousin...Tie dye. I've always been one to experiment, and this past summer I've revamped many of my old T-shirts by tie dying them, just to give them a different look.

Do keep in mind: With tie dyed or ombre dyed pieces, accessories should be minimal.

My How Time Flies...

Time isn't Cruising for anyone, as you can see. Not even lil Suri Cruise who will be turning 2 years old in April. Im sitting here, like....2? When did she turn 1? lol. I was clearly sleep that whole year. One minute I see her, she's being held and the next, she's walking. I even heard that she was fitted for a pair of custom made shoes by Christian Louboutin (Too much for my blood...lol).

I think Suri is the cutest lil thing. I have yet to see any celeb babies as cute as she. I'd say Aoki and Ming Lee Simmons but they aren't babies, those girls are 2 years away from celebutante. lol.

THAT'S AMORE!

I just want to say THANKS A BUNCH to all of my viewers. I love the positive feedback. It happens to be very inspiring, so as I continue to share my thoughts, I ask that you continue to share yours as well.

With Love,
Tierra!

Matthew Williamson Spring/Summer 2008

If anyone did their thing during London's Fashion Week, it was definitely Mr. Matthew Williamson. I got a glimpse of his collection on www.net-a-porter.com and automatically fell in love. He uses the best colors and materials to bring his pieces to life. One thing I love about his collection, is his use of ruffles, sequins, and khaki.(I'm Excited!)I also love the maxi dresses which happen to be very popular this season.

To see more of Matthew Williamson Spring/Summer 2008 collection, you can go to www.net-a-porter.com and check out the fashion show, during London's Fashion Week. Enjoy...and let me know what you think.

Hot Pic

Lil Lo, aint so little anymore! This is a pic of the very grown up Lindsay Lohan on the cover of Paper's March 2008 issue. Idk what it is about this pic, but I'm diggin it. I love the cobalt blue dress with the very STAR TREK shades she's rocking. The fit meshes very well with the backdrop. Kudos to Marcell Rocha, who styled the shoot and Photographer Jeremy Scott for picking a great location (W Hotel in Westwood) and taking a dope shot!

Love, Peace and... Chee?

My It Girl of the Week is someone who I think exemplifies effortless Style. I don't know her personally, but she's a friend of a friend and she goes by the name of CHEE(round of applause!!) I've seen her in action through her pics and she pretty much does the damn thang. One thing that I like about her style is the fact that you can tell it's all her. There are some people you can just look at and automatically see that they are trend-seekers, she isn't one of them. She's daring and confident and to me, that's what makes fashion fun!

I view fashion as a big world of paint and everyone has a paint brush. We can all dip in the same color yet never create the same picture. That's why it's very important to have a signature. You have to make it your own.

With that said, Cheers to Creativity!

p.s. Look out for PEACE AND GLAM!!! COMIN SOON!

The Beat

I don't know if you guys have heard, but just in case you didnt, The Beat fragrance from Christopher Bailey (creative director of Burberry) is mean! I got a whiff of it for the first time today when smelling a sample out of the March 2008 issue of Marie Claire. It's such a pretty smell and although it's a bit pricey, I think it's worth it. The scent is very sexy, works great for day and night.

The muse for the fragrance is ,model, Agyness Deyn. "When it came to choosing a face for The Beat, there was no choice really. I sat down with the french noses, showed them imaged of Aggie, and we tried to bottle her energy. I also played them alot of English bands, as scent and sound, I think, are so crucially linked." says Mr. Bailey.

You can purchase The Beat at Macy's, Sephora, Bloomingdales, etc. I couldn't imagine that you wouldn't.

iceberg?

Tryna stay cool for Spring/Summer 08'...Iceberg may be the way to go. As you can see Mischa Barton, is chillin' in the latest by Iceberg and I must say...the digs are rather sweet. I remember when Iceberg was just about the cartoon characters along with other bold illustrations that were very popular during my JHS days. I honestly haven't been too into Iceberg since then, and today I opened my March 2008 issue of Marie Claire and saw this crazy ad with Mischa and the first thing I said was "Iceberg?" I mean, I was blown. I'm def. digging the new look though, so kudos to the designers, Silvano Gerani and Guiliana Marchini for a cool collection.

Somebody get her an Umbrella!

Rihanna is sure to set off more than a few sprinklers with her smoking hot looks. Style does an outfit good and she has lots of it. It seems like ever since she made the switch to jet black, hair of course...she's been a constant MUST SEE. I remember going crazy everytime I knew Beyonce was going to appear somewhere, now I'm breaking my neck everytime I hear "Rihanna" because I know her outfit and makeup looks something fierce. This post is just to pay respect to one of my many inspirations!

Janet...Ms. Jackson, if your nasty!

What bugs me out most about this woman is that she's been out for centuries and has yet to age,or even make a weak record. I grew up listening to Ms. Jackson. My uncle is madly in love with her...and although I can't remember many of her old songs now, I know for sure that I knew them as a youngster. This post, however, isn't a recap of her life...it's definitely to promote her new album...Discipline. I got a chance to hear a few tracks from off of her album and I must say, I am smitten. I love "So Much Betta" and "The 1 feat. Missy Elliot". "So Much Betta" has this beat that gets me amped. Everytime I'm listening to it, I just so happen to find myself walking to the beat...which does wonders for my strut, might I add.

I say all of that to this, Discipline is in stores now...so go cop! I didn't get mine yet...but I will because its a must. If you'd like to hear the tracks that I mentioned above, I have them plus more on the right side of the page...under 'EAR CANDY'. ENJOY!
